Bob Taylor, P.E., PTOE, serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Focusing on harnessing the power of technology and innovation, he is dedicated to enhancing customer safety and mobility while modernizing business operations. Bob administers a $125 million technology program encompassing enterprise business systems, geoanalytics, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity. He is the executive sponsor of the Turnpike's Innovation Council, Enterprise Planning Team, and the transformative 'Reimagining the Turnpike' initiative.
Before assuming his current role, Bob served as the Manager of Traffic Operations. His responsibilities in that role included traffic incident management, weather operations, work zone operations, intelligent transportation systems, and connected and automated vehicle technologies.
Additionally, Bob brings over two decades of experience with a consulting firm, where he was tasked with planning and deploying transportation and security systems.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He actively contributes to the PennSTART test track Operating Committee, the IBTTA Emerging Technology and Agency Technology Leaders committees, and the Smart Belt Coalition.
